Hole 1

This is a straight par four (4) of approximately 355metres to the green. Looking down from the tee-box is a clear view of the Central Business District, showing the Federal Secretariat and other magnificent buildings. Bisecting the hole at 110m from the Tee-box is a ditch, a lateral hazard, running though lateral water hazard on the right of the hole. Further left, to the green is a pond, a lateral water hazard. Fronting hazards on the both sides of the hole are assemblage of palm trees, ornamental palms and other trees. There are 7 bunkers on this hole: the 1st is on the right at 220m to the green followed by the 2nd and 3rd, 155m & 75m respectively on the left side of the fairway.
On the left side of the green are two fairly deep bunkers, about 1.1m and on the left are two normal bunkers. Some players prefer laying up instead of attacking the green for the fear of these bunkers. The green is elevated and heaped towards the centre and then slopes downwards to the back.
Angus, my friend, looking at the beautiful mowed course boasted “I shall burn this course”, he kept quiet after picking 12.
